IL-MALTIN TAGĦNA with guest Magna Żmien

Magna Żmien is a grassroots movement which was set up in 2017 by like-minded individuals with then aim of salvaging content found on  sound and image collections.

We are interested in memories of the Maltese and their diaspora which were documented on 20th century technology like film, slides, photographs, cassettes audio reels and records. The project offers a free digitisation service to the Maltese public thus giving renewed access  to lost or forgotten memories to the collection owners and preserving the content for future generations.

Magna Żmien is also interested in the use and application of the content found on these analogue formats for research and artistic projects, revalidating the content and its stories in new and exciting ways.

Founding members of the MŻ Foundation are looking forward to meeting members of the Maltese diaspora in NY, presenting our project to the Maltese overseas and discussing why your stories and your memories are important to us and how we can collectively save the memories of Maltese migrants from perishing and disappearing forever.
